Dharma (धर्म) explanation : follow your guts and what resonates positively inside you.
Find your Dharma & dream big
According to Colette Poggi (Doctor in Indian Studies), it is necessary to grasp the opportunity, as a human being, to elevate one's consciousness. Humans can make choices based on discernment, unlike animals that primarily act on instinct.
Then, one must protect oneself from the scenarios imposed by society. Whether it's the media, societal pressures, or what others tell us... we must shield ourselves from them. Once we have emancipated ourselves from all these influences, we can develop intuition, the inner understanding of what is right for me and my life. And thus, we discover our dharma.
"Dharma" is a term with deep roots in Eastern philosophy and spirituality, particularly in Hinduism and Buddhism. It encompasses various meanings depending on the context, but in a general sense, it refers to one's duty, purpose (personal legend for the readers of Paulo Coelho), or path in life. Following one's dharma is often seen as a way to find meaning and fulfilment.
Following your Dharma is trusting this little voice inside you and never doubt about your dreams
To follow your dream while staying true to your dharma, it's essential to first understand yourself deeply. Reflect on your values, passions, and talents. What is it that truly resonates with your heart? This self-awareness will guide you in pursuing a dream that aligns with your inner nature.
Your dream should not contradict your core values and ethical principles. Dharma emphasises living a life that is morally upright and just. Ensure that your dream doesn't compromise your integrity.
Consider how your dream can benefit not only you but also the community or world at large. When your dream aligns with a sense of purpose beyond personal gain, it often leads to a more fulfilling journey.
Dharma isn't necessarily a fixed path ! As you grow and change, your understanding of your dharma may evolve. Similarly, your dreams can change over time. Be open to adapting your dreams to stay in alignment with your evolving sense of purpose.
Following your dream can be challenging, and you may face obstacles and setbacks. In the pursuit of dharma and dreams, perseverance and determination are vital. Stay committed to your path even in the face of adversity.
Practices like meditation and mindfulness can help you stay connected to your inner self and find peace amidst the chaos of chasing your dreams. These practices can help you navigate the journey with a clear and calm mind.
In essence, following your dream in alignment with your dharma means pursuing a path that resonates with your true self, is ethically sound, serves a greater purpose, and allows for personal growth and fulfilment. It's a journey of self-discovery and authenticity that can lead to a life rich in meaning and contentment.
